Eastburn vintage spice

We all love these vintage indian chapati rollers and rolling boards that have made an appearance in the mill this week, the colours are great and the chapati boards are really heavy with a beautiful patina to them, we think they look good sat on these vintage chopping boards.

We’ve recently acquired these lovely tin coffee pots, you can imagine sitting on a barge sipping strong black coffee whilst watching the sun setting.

We also love these cow bells, although a little unusual we think they work well in a kitchen, they are completely unique great if you prefer something different from the norm! You wont find these in John Lewis!

Dough cabinet

At Eastburn we do find that all our range is slightly unusual, we love the quirky look that old furniture has, and every so often we find a real gem, and this dough cupboard is one such gem. It dates from around the 18th century and would have been used to rise the dough in bakeries, it’s unfinished at the moment but when we’ve repaired and re-finished it we think it will look amazing, when it’s finished we’ll post a picture on the blog. We’ve also discovered a very old book hidden inside a chest of drawers that we bought recently, it’s traditional household hints and tips are vintage inspired, and our handy hint is: “to prevent cakes burning in the oven, place a pie dish full of water on the bottom shelf and the pie will bake through without burning. I only wish I had time to bake!
Wooden reclaimed table

We love this rustic table and benches, they have just the right look, they look equally good in an old farmhouse or a sleek mill conversion, the benches also sell well for hallways and boot rooms, the robust nature of the old wood makes the look timeless.
